Flash Fiction Month 2023
Every year, in July, I write and publish a short story of up to 1,000 words as part of the Flash Fiction Month.
it’s a beautiful way to get my creativity flowing, the community is great and the challenges imaginative. I’ve already talked about why quantity leads to quality in the past, and I hope all of my writing friends will take part next year.
The event is hosted on this website, and you can read all the entries of all the participants if you wish.
I’ll link below a few of my favourite stories. Please feel free to read and share them, it would mean the world to me!
I Made it to Fictionistas Favourite list!
My good friend Johnathan pointed me towards this lovely community of fiction writers, and I’ve used their July prompt to write one of the entries for the Flash Fiction Month, which turned out to be my favourite by far.
I ended up in their Favourite list, which made me immensely happy all considered.
I’ll link below the page with the other favourites and my best story of 2023. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Upcoming Interview with Bestselling Author Hanna Jameson
My local writers’ group, the Hampshire Writers’ Society, is about to release the full list of speakers for next year, but it has already been confirmed that Hanna Jameson will open the season on the 12th of September.
And I’m going to interview her.
I’ve been a fan of Hanna’s writing since I attended one of her presentations in Winchester earlier this year, (I’ve spoken about her already in this article) and I’m really excited to ask her some questions in front of a live audience.
If you’re local to Winchester, please come and join us in person, but if you can’t, our events are usually streamed on YouTube. Here’s the link.
Wim Hof Workshop with Marc Bowers
As part of my birthday present, I attended a Wim Hof Workshop facilitated by the amazing Marc Bowers.
I had never even taken a cold shower before, and by the end of the workshop I ended up in the above ice bath for 2 minutes. If you’re interested, contact Marc directly.
A few things I’m enjoying at the moment
Hanna’s last 2 novels: Are You Happy Now and The Last are absolute must read. The first is a Dystopian love story giving voice to an entire generation, the second is a post-apocalyptic murder mystery.
Both highly recommended.

A beautiful quote
Lack of confidence kills more dreams than lack of ability.
Talent matters—especially at elite levels—but people talk themselves out of giving their best effort long before talent becomes the limiting factor.
You're capable of more than you know. Don't be your own bottleneck.

Alla prossima.
Your energy and enthusiasm are palpable, Francesco. A story every day for a whole month? - Wow! You're also a great source of inspiration and valid criticism. I'll need to develop a stronger accent for my 'skin to be as thick as my accent'. Maybe a SA one? 😜
